What do you get when you put a bunch of industry leaders, sharp visionaries, and inspirational innovators in one room?

One awesome conference.

By providing a space to learn, network, and share ideas with experts, conferences can provide a one-of-a-kind, inspirational experience that would be impossible to access otherwise. And when you end up at the right ones, you can leave with a changed vision for your organization. With that in mind, here are 5 interesting conferences for the savvy nonprofit professional – along with what a few attendees had to say about their experiences at each one!

1. Dreamforce

Hosted by Salesforce, Dreamforce features four days of concentrated learning, networking, innovation, and fun. As the largest technology vendor conference in the world, participants learn from industry visionaries, product experts, and global business leaders at over 1,400 sessions. The Salesforce Foundation, the company’s philanthropic division, hosts a separate zone for nonprofit organizations with tons of NGO-specific breakout sessions and keynotes to attend.

2. CLASSY Collaborative

Held annually in San Diego, the CLASSY Awards Weekend attracts 3,000 of the nation’s top social sector leaders to celebrate the greatest champions of social progress. The two-day event includes the Collaborative, an exclusive 400-person conference that brings together nonprofit professionals to engage in conversation around the world’s greatest challenges. Participants can engage with and learn from top social innovators and leaders on driving social progress.

The Collaborative provides a highly synergetic and innovative space unlike any other. Make sure to keep an eye on the space by following @CLASSYAwards on Twitter and prepare to attend next year.!

Hosted by HubSpot, INBOUND seeks to provide the inspiration, education, and connections professionals need to transform their businesses. The four-day conference attracts thousands of marketing and sales professionals from all around the world, and almost every industry under the sun. As with these other awesome conferences, you can count on way more awesome breakout sessions, keynotes, and workshops than you can attend. This year, Shiza Shahid, co-founder and CEO of the Malala Fund, will deliver the closing Keynote.

4. Lean Startup Conference

We know what you must be thinking. A startup conference? But wait – this conference isn’t just for startups. Lean startup principles can help forward-thinking, nonprofit innovators learn how to implement creative solutions to problems, use funds effectively, and maximize their impact. For five days, the Lean Startup Conference offers a broad diversity of presenters from different industries, workshops, entrepreneurship training, and keynotes. Nonprofit professionals can come and learn straight from experienced entrepreneurs.

5. Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC)

The NTC, one of the social sector’s trademark technology events, gathers together more than 2,000 nonprofit staff, vendors, and consultants. For three days, participants share knowledge, network, and engage in conversation around the social sector and its use of technology.

Of course, these are only a few of the excellent conferences out there nonprofits can attend. Have any other suggestions? Tweet us your ideas @StayClassySD!
